N.C.H.(Distinction)
Garden Design

Magali originally trained and worked as a gardener in London but began her career in garden design in Suffolk with a commission for a 7 acre garden. Further commissions followed, also in Suffolk, and she was subsequently recruited to a Suffolk based Landscape Architect’s firm preparing planting plans for several large landscape projects.

In 1992 she studied for a N.C.H. in Garden Design and Construction and gained the maximum of 4 distinctions in her finals. Due to her ability and experience she was accepted at the University of Greenwich to study Landscape Architecture where she graduated with a B. A. (Hons.) in Landscape Architecture in 1995.

Magali has worked as a freelance garden and landscape designer since graduating, including 3 years as consultant Landscape Architect to the Sacred Land Project where she designed numerous ‘sacred’ gardens nationwide. Since 2001 she has completed designs for several private gardens in London, Essex and Kent, a large churchyard in South London, a minimalist garden for the Tate, London and a large herbaceous and grasses garden for Sir Elton John, to name but a few of her commissions.

Design Style & Philosophy

Using her knowledge of garden history, philosophy and culture, Magali designs gardens that are both original and enduring. Having worked in the horticultural world for over 20 years, Magali brings to her imaginative designs the practical experience gained there and is pleased to create gardens that suit both the desires of her clients and the constraints of the site.

Magali works closely with her clients to create gardens that are distinctive and that complement the owner’s lifestyles. She ensures that her original and innovative designs are built to the highest standards using the best quality materials, expert craftsmen and individually chosen plants.
